We would like to hold a brainstorming and crafting session to help Bridge to Freedom Foundation develop personal development workshops to aid survivors of human trafficking. This could be done in 3 hours: the first half helping to create examples of exercises we have our clients do such as personal vision boards, health and nutrition charts and general story boards for things like how to get to college, or how to create a sense of self-worth. The second half of the session would be for participants to create their own workshop on a issue that they believe everyone needs to grow in order to have successful personal development. These activities would not only help the community understand the BTFF, but also the larger issue of human trafficking and the needs of survivors. It would create a personal link to such a broad problem and would foster a sense of community.
The $500 grant would be used to purchase supplies for these workshops such as journals for survivors, crafting supplies for development exercises and educational materials to aid instructors and enrich workshops. The volunteers would be used to brainstorm fresh ideas on what topics they feel are important to personal development and to also create examples of workshop activities so that instructors can focus their time on research and writing proposals. The tools would be used to create these examples.
